The Roots of Innovation: The Rosier Story
Our journey began in the fertile fields of Frasnes, with Xavier Rosier, an innovative farmer who saw potential beyond traditional agricultural practices. In the early days, Xavier started by selling guano to his neighbors, helping them fertilize their crops more effectively. Little did he know that this small act of entrepreneurship would plant the seeds of a revolutionary agricultural enterprise.
In 1880, Xavier's son Alfred took a bold step that would change agricultural history forever. He pioneered the production of superphosphate, a groundbreaking fertilizer created by treating phosphate rock with sulfuric acid. This was more than just a business move – it was the birth of a scientific approach to plant nutrition that would transform farming worldwide.

The original process remains at the core of our innovation, but Rosier has continuously evolved. In 1960, we expanded into complex granulated fertilizers, bringing more sophisticated nutrition solutions to farmers. By 1991, we had further diversified, introducing liquid and water-soluble fertilizers that could address every plant need and irrigation method.
Our growth continued with strategic expansions. In 2006, we welcomed Zuid Chemie in Sas van Gent, establishing Rosier Nederland and extending our reach across Europe. The most recent chapter of our story came in 2023, when the Yildirim Group acquired Rosier, ensuring our continued growth and innovation.

Today, Rosier stands as a global leader, distributing our products to over 110 countries. For more than 140 years, we've remained true to our founding mission: supporting agriculture through innovative, science-driven fertilization solutions.
From a small family farm to a global agricultural technology company, our story is one of continuous innovation, family legacy, and commitment to nurturing the world's crops.
